Warm Audio WA-47jr FET microfono a condensatore a diaframma largo

There’s no denying the WA47 Jnr FET is beautifully made, although it doesn’t come with the ubiquitous wooden box it is extremely well packaged and the shock mount would not be out of place on a real Neuman.

Overall impressions are positive, I tried it against my favourite AKGC535 condenser mic recording a voiceover and it imparted an additional warmth and richness, which given how much I like that mic was impressive.

Since then I have put it through its paces on a music session recording both vocal and acoustic guitar. Straight out of the box it definitely needs some EQ to make it fit in a rock track but it still imparts a pleasing tone. On acoustic guitar it was slightly less impressive than I was hoping for but double tracked with the AKG 535 it was nonetheless very usable.



It’s not a magic bullet and it doesn’t sound like it’s big brother based on what reviews I’ve read and videos I’ve watched, but it is a great mic for the money nonetheless.



My only concern is that despite the published figures the noise floor is not that great, it’s not just a straightforward his but a general mic/background sound that you hear.

It’s not noticeable on vocals but definitely noticeable on voice-overs and have also noticed it come up in a few reviews online.



Bottom line for £275 it’s a great mic but it’s not a Neumann.. that said it’s not a nasty Chinese copy as some people have intimated either .

Enorm fijn geluid. Warm en sterk. Geen gedoe, aansluiten en opnemen. Top!

Superfijne Fet U47 stijl microfoon. Geen gesleep met een externe voeding. De Fet vervangt de buis en is daarom gewoon te gebruiken met 48v fantoomvoeding, die bijna alle microfoonvoorversterkers standaard erop hebben zitten. Hij klinkt niet zo “huge” als de buizen-versie, maar voor vocalen vind ik dat juist fijner om in te mixen in pop-produkties. Een zeer veelzijdige en makkelijk inzetbare microfoon voor allerlei toepassingen.

Erg jammer, prachtige microfoon... het kan persoonlijke voorkeur zijn, maar hij is absoluut niet beter dan mijn sE2200a IIC, of mijn MXL2003 (gemodificeerd) en al helemaal niet dan mijn Neumann TLM102. Ik heb vele reviews gelezen en op Youtube filmpjes gezien, maar ik vindt hem vlak en dof klinken. Gaat weer netjes terug in de doos. Jammer, de looks zijn er maar de prestatie valt voor mij persoonlijk helaas tegen.
